A Little Update

Well here we are again after a mini hiatus from the blogging world. But, we are back with a few pictures and short stories. We hope everyone has had a good summer, and is ready for the upcoming months. And remember, Winter is just around the corner.
We started our summer with the Bruno Mars concert.
He was great!!! We can't wait for him to come back!

Caitlin and some of her friends did the chalk art festival at The Gateway. There was some really great stuff there. Good job Cait!

Tippy, age 17, went to the Kitty Condo in the sky in June. She lived a good long life filled with many extreme adventures. Tippy will be missed, but never forgotten.
Another tragedy in the family. Dax, age 8, met his demise when a lady pulled out in front of Gavin. The other car rolled over, but luckily no one was hurt. So for now we are a one car family, looking for an addition. Mallory's mom has been a good sport for letting Gavin borrow her car in the meantime.

After not having a cat for a couple weeks, Mallory told me that it was time to get another one. So Mallory spent some time browsing the Humane Society's web site and found this cute little guy. It took us a few days to come up with a name, but after seeing how laid back this cat was, we named him Bruno.
He loves to ride in the car. Although he does not get to do it very often.

Sadie is already teaching her little brother what he needs to know about life. They are getting along great.

In July we went with a couple of our friends, Julie and Jesse, to the cabin and to JellyStone, I mean Yellowstone National Park. It was a blast!

My Sister's Blog

Surprise! I have updated my blog for 2 months in a row.  Still no pictures of my own (I will work on that when I actually have time), but I thought that I would post a link to my little sister's blog instead.  She just turned 15 and is very talented. Here's the link:   http://caitybugphotography.blogspot.com/

I hope you enjoy it!

Happy New Year!

Well, a lot has happened since our last post and it mostly has to do with Gavin.  He graduated with his Associate's Degree in Business in December and is working toward a Bachelor's via Utah State University's satellite campus at SLCC.

He also started his new job at Macey's today.  We aren't sure what his schedule is going to be like but chances are we won't be seeing each other very much for the next little bit. Which may be a good thing because then I won't feel as guilty with all the studying I will have to do for school this semester.

Gavin also got a new church calling.  I have been in the Primary since we moved into our ward in the summer of 2008.  I was teaching a sweet little class consisting of 3 girls who were no problem.  Then come 2009 I was put with 9 five year olds who all loved to talk.  It really shouldn't have been too big of a deal, but with the stress of graduate school, work and trying to spend the spare time I had studying and with Gavin, it became too much for me.  So after some tears and a talk with a Bishopric member and the Primary President, Gavin became my new team teacher.  It has been such a great experience for both of us and Gavin is really getting the hang of teaching kids under the age of 12 and all of the boys in our class already like him a lot more than me.
Things for me are basically the same.  I am in my last semester of classroom work in the College of Pharmacy (finally).  I can't believe how quickly it has gone.  I still feel unprepared to actually be a pharmacist but can't wait to be finished with school.  The most terrifying part of this semester is seminar, where I get the "opportunity" to present a controversial pharmaceutical topic in front of a group of my fellow classmates and any faculty members who wish to attend (backed up by studies from peer reviewed journal articles, of course) for 45 minutes and then get bombarded with questions about it.  Hopefully all will go well because public speaking is definitely not my strong point.

My parents also took us on a trip to Kauai for Christmas and we had a great time!  We will post pictures soon and hopefully we will do much better with this blogging thing in 2011!

How Embarrassing!

Hhmmm...I just checked our blog and found that our wallpaper is no longer active. Guess it is time for an update! Gav and I will try to keep this thing running a bit better from now on but we aren't making any promises!

So that this post isn't completely lame, here is a picture of me and a few of my College of Pharmacy friends after immunization training last week.

All in all it went pretty well, except for the part where I hit my partner's bone with the needle! I was told by my evaluator that it is fairly common and that the patient can't feel it (bone has no nerve endings on the outside). Unfortunately for me, I could definitely feel it but was grateful it happened for the first time during practice rather than on an old lady in the community!

While I have been perfecting the needle stick and studying, Gavin has been spending time on YouTube trying to discover his hidden talent/new hobby. He stumbled upon these guys...

...and thought "That can't be that hard". To be honest, I was quite skeptical (those guys have had years of practice, it will make a huge mess, Gav will end up looking like Joseph in his Technicolor Dreamcoat...". When I left for work last Saturday, Gavin told me he was going to clean up and maybe do a little painting. I came home from work last Saturday to this:

Gav told me it only took him around 15 minutes and the only paint residue I could find was a trace amount on his right hand. We were both pretty impressed with his new found talent/hobby. While I was studying (a daily occurrence) on Tuesday night he decided to go outside and paint some more. Here is his 2nd spray painted masterpiece:

He's pretty good, huh? Sorry I didn't orient the last 2 pictures correctly, Gav is usually the "uploader" for our posts. We hope everyone had a great summer and we will try to update you on how we spent ours soon!

A "Suite" Game!!!

On Friday we got to go to Game 3 of the Playoffs for the Jazz. We had the most comfy seats in the house, also some of the best food. The Jazz played great and showed the Thuggets how to play ball. Big Fes dominated. It was so much fun! Big thank you to Jannie and Scott for the tickets!!!
